Summary

SUMMARY

We plan to apply a new scientific approach to study how the climate affects peatland carbon stock.

We will apply this new approach in an area of Poland that would be a bridge between western and eastern study sites and therefore fill a gap in the climate gradient to be studied if one wants to have a better picture of the sensitivity of peatlands to climate change in Europe.

We will connect different groups of scientists to obtain integrated research on the functioning of peatlands in temporal and spatial scales.

We will become actors in a network of European scientists addressing the impact of climate change on peatlands.
